Lt. Jon Blank - Roanoke County Fire and Rescue Department
“Moodle as a Training Tool”
We start the year with an interactive presentation on how the Roanoke County Fire and Rescue Department is using MOODLE to manage courses and eLearning.
MOODLE is an open source learning management system, similar to Blackboard or Course Compass, that is designed to fit all budgets. Lt. Jon Blank will provide a hands on overview of MOODLE along with lessons learned from the Roanoke County Fire and Rescue Department's experience with MOODLE.
Attendees will get to log in and take a first hand look at MOODLE. Laptops with wireless capability recommended, but not required. The Moodle test site will also be available for a month after Lt. Jon Blank's presentation.
No prior MOODLE experience needed to enjoy this interactive presentation!
Lt. Jon Blank BS, NREMT-P is a 10 year veteran of the Roanoke County Fire and Rescue Department. Lt. Blank has been assigned to both the operations and training divisions of the Fire and Rescue Department. He is currently assigned as an operations Lieutenant at the Cave Spring Fire Station.
